Session Description:

Building on Part 1, which introduced the five HRO principles through case examples and daily reliability routines, this webinar shifts from understanding HRO in practice to sustaining it over time. Many organizations launch HRO activities with strong intent, but the work can fade when teams face competing priorities, staffing pressure, limited attention from senior leaders, or uncertainty about how to make reliability feel relevant in daily operations.

This webinar focuses on how quality & safety leaders can build support for HRO in daily practice by connecting reliability behaviors to the problems teams already need to solve, including harm prevention, escalation, communication breakdowns, workforce trust & operational consistency. Participants will explore practical ways to keep HRO prioritized through visible executive accountability, clear ownership, leader standard work, simple measurement, governance touchpoints, frontline storytelling, routine escalation paths & disciplined follow-through. They will begin building a 90-day sustainment plan that clarifies what senior leaders must own, how progress will be reviewed & how HRO will remain visible, actionable & harder to deprioritize.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Diagnose where HRO adoption is stalling and identify the daily work processes, audience needs, competing priorities, and local barriers that must be addressed for HRO to take hold.
  2. Develop a practical value story for HRO that links reliability behaviors to patient safety, workforce trust, operational performance, executive accountability & the priorities of frontline teams and middle leaders.
  3. Design leader standard work and a 90-day hardwiring plan with executive sponsorship, clear ownership, review cadence, escalation triggers, visible progress measures & tactics for keeping HRO prioritized when attention shifts.
